About us
After growing up on a smallholding in Norfolk, Sally Francis graduated from the University of Oxford with a first class honours degree in Plant Sciences and then a doctorate on arable crop disease. She has worked as a research scientist on barley, wheat and sugar beet and has led botanical field work on expedition in Alaska. Sally is also a keen and knowledgeable fruit and vegetable grower.
After leaving research, Sally established herself as a successful freelance writer, publisher, and distributor, focusing on botanical, agricultural, natural history and local history books. Sally Francis is based in rural East Anglia.
